Same Grace, One Body

We have this tendency to categorize sin, Big sin, medium sin, small sin. We also have the same tendency to think of ourselves (culturally, gender wise, Title, calling, gifting etc) as being more than or better than someone else. Yet Ephesians 2 further testifies with Romans 3:23 that, “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”.

Paul was called to the Gentiles to reveal the Hidden mysteries that God had in mind for the Gentiles (us) all along. The Gentiles, b.c (Before Christ) were not “included” in the covenant God had made with the Israelites, so their way of doing things were not or even at all influenced by the God of Israel. They were under a different belief system, different gods and ultimately a different law.

Yet verses 14 and 15 of Ephesians 2 further explains what Christ actually did for both the Gentiles (us) and the Jews alike, “For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility by abolishing the law of commandments expressed in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace,”

‭‭

This tells us that even if I weren’t born into the family of God as the Jews were, that the moment I received Christ I have come under the Sonship of God (Romans 8:15). There is no longer Gentile or Jew but Children of God.

This also tells us that even if I were born into the family of God, or to put it simply, if I’ve been saved for awhile, I have a certain gifting or prestige, that the same requirements expected of someone coming Into the Family Of God or someone New in the Body of Christ is STILL expected of me. No partiality or separation.

Unlike us, God sees things differently (Isaiah 55:8). We see Color, Class, Prestige, Gifting, Gender, Sexual Orientation and the like, God sees the sacrifice His Son Jesus Christ paid for us all to Be Saved, to Be with Him eternally and ultimately, progressively, to be like His Son Christ- the Firstborn Of many brothers and Sisters

For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”

‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3:27-28
